Description: This wood is only found growing naturally in the Hawaiian Islands. The pieces of wood that I own were sent to me 20 years ago by my friend who lives in Hawaii. Apparently his neighbor was remodeling their kitchen, and building all of their kitchen cabinets in Koa! My friend went "dumpster diving" to rescue all the scraps and sent them to me. A truly beautiful "rescue" pen!
